We start the new issue of the quarterly magazine “Our Faith” with the “Joint Declaration of Pope Francis and Patriarch Kirill”, where the hierarchs are calling God’s people for peace and mercy (p. 2-5).

Doctor of philosophy S. Gresvi dedicates her material “Short Biography of St. John of the Cross” to the great Spanish mystic. Here you will also find an excerpt from the treatise of St. John “Ascent of Mount Carmel” translated by S. Gresvi (p. 6-11).

We continue to print “The Four Loves” by English writer and theologian C.S. Lewis translated by Y. Shedzko (section “Friendship”), as well as the translation of the work by Stephan Svyazhauski «Saint Thomas, re-read» made by A. Zhlutka (p. 12-17).

In the essay “The Signs of Mercy” K. Lialko talks about her work on the translation of the “Diary” by St. Faustina Kowalska (p. 18-21).

In the column “Poetry” we put new poems by D. Bichel (p. 22-23).

Literary critic and Professor E. Liavonava writes about the poem “Ash Wednesday” by Nobel Prize winner T.S. Eliot (p. 24-29).

Historian A. Shpunt offers to the readers the article “Father Stanislaw Bonifacy Jundzill SP”, dedicated to the unique personality of this priest, who created the Vilnius Botanical Garden (p. 30-34).

Art critic A. Yarashevich in his article “Saint Joseph in the Belarusian Sacral Art” talks about the artistic images of St. Joseph (p. 35-37).

H. Shauchenka offers to the readers her article on memoir prose of F. Karpinski, as well as the translation of a passage from the “Memoirs” of the Polish writer and poet (p. 38-44).

Fifth year student of BSU V. Kachalka makes her debut in the magazine with her translation from the old Polish language of “The Homily of Fr. Marcin Widziewicz at the Funeral of Nicholas Christopher Radziwill” (p. 45-51).

A. Valchuk in the article “Spain and the Spaniards in “Dyjariusz” by Juwenalis Charkiewicz” introduces an interesting example of memoir literature of the second half of the 18th century (p. 52-57).

Literary critic I. Bagdanovich in her article “In the Footsteps of Father Uladzislau Charniauski” writes about the opening of the museum dedicated to the priest in the village of Vishnieva in Valozhyn district, where he served for a long time of his life (p. 58-60).

Essay “Mariusz Karpovich” by U. Dzianisau dedicated to the memory of the famous art historian, Polish professor M. Karpovich (p. 61-62).

I. Bigel in her article “Hvelka or Attempt on the Guinness Book of Records” writes about one of the most interesting representatives of the Yanushkevich family artist Felix Yanushkevich who created his art gallery in Rakau (p. 62-66).

M. Skobla in the essay “The Dramaturgic Epos of Ales Petrashkevich” presents his new interesting book “Ales Petrashkevich. The Sacked Earth...” (2015) (p. 67-69).

D. Bichel from Grodno in her article “All Roads Go through Zelva” acquaints the readers with the poetry of Ina Snarskaya (p. 70-71).

RESÜMEE

Dem großen spanischen Mystiker ist der Beitrag von Dr. phil. S. Greswi „Eine kurze Lebensbeschreibung des heiligen Johannes vom Kreuz“ gewidmet. Hier befindet sich auch ein Auszug aus dem Traktat des heiligen Johannes „Aufstieg auf den Berg Karmel“ in der Übersetzung von S. Greswi (S. 6-11)

PODSUMOWANIE

Najnowszy numer kwartalnika „Nasza wiara” rozpoczyna się tekstem „Wspólna Deklaracja papieża Franciszka i patriarchy Moskwy i całej Rusi Cyryla”, w której hierarchowie wzywają lud Boży do pokoju i miłosierdzia (s. 2-5).

Osobie wielkiego hiszpańskiego mistyka poświęcony został materiał doktora filozofii S. Greswi „Krótki życiorys św. Jana od Krzyża”. Tutaj zamieszczony został także fragment z traktatu św. Jana „Droga na Górę Karmel” w przekładzie S. Greswi (s. 6-11).

Kontynuujemy druk tłumaczenia (J. Szedźko) pracy angielskiego pisarza i teologa C.S. Lewisa „Cztery miłości” (rozdział „Przyjaźń”), a także publikację przekładu (A. Żłutko) pracy S. Świeżawskiego „Święty Tomasz odczytany na nowo” (s. 12-17).
