SUMMARY

The Message of John Paul II on XXXV World Day of Mass Media opens this edition. The motto of this document is the words of Jesus Christ directed to His first desciples: «What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops» (>>).

In column Haereditas historian and Latiner Ales Zhlutka offers to the reader the translation from Greek of Didache, or Teachings of the Twelve Apostles. This is the most important work of early Christianity, which was probably written in the latter half of the first century A.C. and which describes the main principles of activity of the first Christian communities, the basics of their organisation, and instructions to the liturgy and religious ceremonies (>>).

Writer Irina Zharnasiek presents the extract from her novel Thy Will Be Done... based on tragic events of the year 1943 which took place in Belarussian village Rasitsa where more than one and a half thousand people were burned. Two priests from Marian order Antoni Liashchevich and Yury Kashyra didn't leave their parishioners and died with them in flames (>>).

Die Schriftstellerin Irina Sharnasek bietet einen Auszug aus ihrem Roman «Dein Wille geschehe...». Das Sujet dieses Romans grundet auf den tragischen Geschehen im Jahr 1943 in einem kleinen belarussischen Orte Rasiza, wo sind mehr als einhalb Tausend Einwohner verbrannt worden, und mit ihnen waren auf eigenen Wille die Paters Antoni Ljaschtschewitsch und Juri Kaschira ins Feuer gegangen (>>).
